Svante's
own page
"Svante" was born on April 27, 1997.
His first weeks, he spent in the kitchen at his
breeders Eva och Filip Johnsson in Tobo, north of
Uppsala, and i got him when he was 9 weeks old.
His real name is "Dainty´s Dancing Brave",
but that is too long so I called him "Svante".Svante is a CeskyTerrier, a not that common breed
here in Sweden. Each year only about 25-40 ceskys
are born here.
From the beginning it's a Czech terrier that you can
read more about at: Cesky Terrier Club of Sweden
The breed standard is to be read here and some
pictures can be seen here if you want to know more. But this was supposed to be Svante's page.
He came in to my life on the 4th of July 1997.
Small as a kitten he walked around in our garden
to see this new world he had been brought to.
During this first day, he had the time to
dig up all the flowers in the garden, get stuck under
a stair (he wasn't too happy when we pulled him loose),
sleep for a little while in the tent that the kids had to
play in and get to know the other dogs in the house.
The briard wondered what disgusting small thing that
was chewing on his beard and the German shepherd
pretended not to see him.
As the time went by, Svante came to know that what a
briard says isn't something that you have to care about,
but that it is best to listen to the shepherd or you get hit.
Always nice to go for walks....... Soon I started to do some obedience with Svante.
I have done that with all my other dogs so why not
with him?
Almost at the same time, I got pregnant and it isn't
easy to work with such a small dog when you have a
big belly, so we got a little delayed, but we have
catched up now.
Svante is sooo willing to work, happy, fast and easy to
learn. So now we have done some competitions and it
has went well.
You can see here....
Plenty of shows have also given him a championship. We have done some other fun stuff too!
Look here and you will see.....He is so nice, this little dog.
Not as tough as many terriers, but willing to please
and always happy when he can come along with me.
